Adventures of ROCKWELL

Well, yeah, that's the beta title. I'm goin to use Rockwell as the name of the character anyways. It's a play on 'RockFord' from Boulder Dash and 'Roswell' (Area 51). I figured it was suitable because he looks like a little alien rodent. Since it's a cave dwelling character, I made the eyes pretty big. Since it digs around, I gave it mole arms and claws. The sprite from boulder dash was a big influence aswell.
I didn't do a mouth since this is not a character that needs to talk or interact. It's more suitable for it to be silent and mystical. I hate it when they give game character personalities (MegaMan, cough).


Initial sketches: Space suit (BD III), Mining gear outfit (BD NES), Bomberman, some enemies and blurbs.

What's Boulder Dash?
It's a C64 game that is pretty wellknown. If you haven't heard of it, original screenshots and sprites can be found _here_ for example. Boulder Dash EX for the GBA has both the original version and a graphically updated version with additional gameplay stuff. There's a couple of free/trial web versions too.



My program/game
So, I decided to make my own version. It's still very beta, and not really playable. I'd advice not to run it unless you know what you're doing and have read through the readme/manual file. It will be freeware/gratisware once finished.
